Why ClearPath Exists
After more than ten years in ambulatory surgery and pain management , I kept noticing the same pattern. A patient would arrive on the morning of surgery without their medication held correctly, or having eaten breakfast, or missing a step that wasn't clearly explained. The case would get cancelled or delayed. The OR would sit empty. The patient would go home discouraged.
Every cancellation had a cost: $3,000 to $5,000 for the facility, hours of staff time, and a patient who now has to reschedule and re-prepare. But the deeper cost was that almost all of it was preventable. The instructions existed. The patient was willing. The information just never reached them at the right time, in a form they could actually use.
ClearPath exists to fix that — not with a new app to download, not with another patient portal login, but with personalized, timed guidance that meets patients where they already are.
In June 2026, ClearPath ran a field-research survey with working CRNAs across hospital ORs, ambulatory surgery centers, and outpatient surgery. They rated their facility's pre-op patient communication at 3.1 out of 5 on average — not broken, but not working. The most common day-of cancellation causes were NPO violations, missing labs and clearance, GLP-1 non-compliance, and patients who didn't show. ClearPath is built around what those CRNAs said they wished someone would fix.
How We Work
Clinician-led. Every product decision is made by someone who has stood at the OR door waiting for a patient who wasn't ready. We don't outsource that judgment.
Evidence-based. We operate within the 21st Century Cures Act CDS exemption. We make no diagnostic claims. Every clinical recommendation in ClearPath traces to a current, citable guideline.
Restraint. Healthcare technology has a long history of overpromising. We'd rather underclaim and let the data speak.
Where We Are Today
ClearPath is actively recruiting design-partner ambulatory surgery centers across Texas for 90-day pilots launching late 2026 through early 2027. The goal is straightforward: measurably reduce same-day cancellations and delays at a small group of Texas ASCs, with a published outcomes report at the end of the pilot.
If you run or work inside a Texas surgery center and the cancellation problem is one you'd like to put real numbers against, I'd like to talk.
